Project EATS (Art. Food. Life.)
Using what we have. Creating what we need.
Project EATS is an ArtAction in neighborhood-grown agriculture that develops community-run farms, food, and herbal enterprises in urban neighborhoods and creative ways of seeing, living, and thinking about life and well-being.
Vegetables, herbs and fruit are grown with close attention to plant and soil health, compost and fermented teas, green manures and cover cropping, highest quality of locally sourced compost, and without the use of chemicals.
Food grown in Project EATS communities is distributed to the community based on the principle that every resident should be able to eat the food grown, regardless of their income or personal circumstance.
We supplement our community markets with sales to local/seasonal restaurants and community-based organizations.
Goal & Mission
The goal of Project EATS is to create ways for urban communities to feed, heal, and generate resources for themselves that increase their overall well-being. Its mission is to make fresh food production and consumption a viable food, health, and economic strategy for working class neighborhoods.
